Privacy policy

The short version
SlangDex is a reference site. There are no user accounts, nothing to sign up for, and we don't sell or share personal data. What little data exists is described below in plain language.
What we collect
- Nothing you type. The site has no accounts or forms that post
data to us. Search runs in your browser against a prebuilt index; we never
send your queries to an analytics service or store them ourselves. (Like any
web address, a shared search link containing
?q=passes through Cloudflare's standard access logs described below.) - One preference, stored on your device. If you use the light/dark theme toggle, your choice is saved in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.
- Standard server logs. The site is served by Cloudflare, whose infrastructure processes IP addresses and request metadata to deliver pages and protect against abuse, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Aggregate analytics (planned). We use, or plan to use, privacy-focused, cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count page views. It doesn't track you across sites or build profiles.
If you email us about a correction, a suggestion, or anything else, we keep the email to act on it and reply. We don't add you to lists or share your address.
Advertising
The site currently shows no ads. If advertising is added in the future (such as Google AdSense), ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies subject to their own policies, and this page will be updated first with the details and any consent controls required in your region.
Children
The site is a general-audience dictionary with no accounts, forms, or tracking aimed at anyone, children included. The only personal data we ever hold is email that people choose to send us.
